GLBRC142:Switchgrass Variety Experiment II
This dataset contains data on the KBS GLBRC Switchgrass Variety Experiment II, established in May 2021, to examine the establishment potential, productivity, and feedstock quality of switchgrass varieties Nine different varieties (T1-T9) are planted in a complete randomized block design arranged in 4 replicate blocks (R1-R4). Plots are 9.2 × 12.2 m and are equally divided lengthwise into nitrogen-fertilized (+N) and unfertilized (0N) split-plots. Varieties include three upland (Blackwell, Cave-in-Rock, and Summer), three lowland (Alamo, Kanlow, and Cedar Creek (planted in 2022)), one coastal (Timber), and two hybrid (Liberty (crossed upland-lowland), and Shawnee (modified upland)) ecotypes.

Tables
- GLBRC142-001 Dry Matter Yield
Dry matter yields from machine harvests of the Switchgrass Variety Experiment II.
- GLBRC142-002 Switchgrass Stand Counts
- Stand counts of switchgrass varieties are occasionally conducted to monitor population growth and recruitment.
- GLBRC142-003 Agronomic Soil Chemistry
Agronomic soil test results of the GLBRC Switchgrass Variety Experiment II. Surface soils (0-25 cm) are periodically sampled, air dried, and sent to an analytical laboratory for testing and fertilizer and liming recommendations.
