GLBRC123:Profile Soil Moistures
Soil moisture profiles were meaured at the BCSE with several techniques. Initially we installed a TDR array at 7 depths. In 2019 we installed a set of campbell CS650 probes at 3 depth in a subset of the plots.

- GLBRC123-001 Soil profile moisture
Soil moistures are measured hourly with a Campbell TDR100 system. The hourly data is passed through a 13 point median filter, then the daily median is retrieved and the result is passed through a 3 point filter that passes the middle point if the vwc is within 0.03 % of the mean of the surrounding points if it did not rain in the last 2 days. If it did rain it middle point is accepted if it is higher than the mean of the outside points.
- GLBRC123_002 Soil moisture profiles in replicate 1 of the BCSE
- Soil moisture is measured with Campbell CS650 soil moisture probes (https://www.campbellsci.com/cs650) in Replicate 1 of the BCSE. The Soil moisture probes were installed vertically at 3 depth: 0, 30 and 60 centimeters. The probes are slighly offset to avoid disturbance from the upper probe affecting the lower one.
