2021-11-11 KBS G1 Harvest {"Truck # 1653 (White Dodge RAM 5500 with Flat Bed)","Trailer 34 ft (Gooseneck) Low-Profile with Hydraulic Dove Tail ","John Deere 7420b Tractor (14.9 R 46 back tire size)","Loftness 15' Draper Windrower Shredder","John Deere 7520 Tractor","Krone Baler (Big Pack 1270 XC Multi-Bale)"} Ryan Anthony flail mowed corn stover in G1 main plots: Reps 5, 4, 2, 3, & 1. Corn stover was mowed into windrows so that they could be bailed. The 6 rows (15 ft) in the west micro-plots of each rep were not mowed. Equipment Used: JD 7420a tractor and Loftness 15 ft Draper Windrower Shredder. Joe Simmons bailed corn stover with Krone 1270 square baler. Equipment Used: JD 7520 tractor with Krone 1270 square baler. Equipment Used: JD 7420b tractor (with loader) was used to move/load bales. Equipment Used: Dodge truck and gooseneck trailer were used to move and weigh bales. Portable scale was put on the rear of gooseneck and bales were place on scale to obtain weight. Bales were taken to KBS Dairy Center to be used for bedding for the cows. 5293

2021-11-08 KBS G6 Harvest {"John Deere 7350 Self-propelled forage harvester/chopper","GNUSE Forage Wagon"} Harvest GLBRC main site treatment G6 main plots. Equipment Used: All plots were harvested with the JD 7350 self-propelled forage harvester equipped with a JD 676 cutting head. Plant material was chopped into a Gnuse forage wagon that is fitted with load cells to determine weight of harvested biomass. Cutting height of remaining plant stubble was 4-6 inches in all reps. Grab samples from each rep was placed in paper bags weighed for wet weight and placed in plant dryer and reweighed to determine percent moisture for each replication. 5275
2021-11-05 KBS G2 Harvest {" Kemper harvester / tractor / weigh container"} Harvested GLBRC G2, G3, and G6 micro-plots (fertilized and non-fertilized plots). Todd Martin harvested the BCSE G2, G3, and G6 micro-plots in 2021. Equipment Used: JD 6140R tractor using the 7.6 ft wide Kemper head and weigh container. The middle 7.6' of each micro-plot were harvested. Plot weights were obtained from the on-board scale indicator. Cutting height of plant stubble was 4-6 inches. Grab samples from each rep was placed in paper bags, weighed for wet weight and placed in plant dryer and will be reweighed to determine percent moisture for each treatment and replication. 5270
