2022-11-10 KBS G1 Harvest {"Loftness 15' Draper Windrower Shredder","John Deere 7420a Tractor","John Deere 7520 Tractor","Krone Baler (Big Pack 1270 XC Multi-Bale)","Truck # 1653 (White Dodge RAM 5500 with Flat Bed)","Trailer 34 ft (Gooseneck) Low-Profile with Hydraulic Dove Tail ","John Deere 5410 Tractor with JD 540 loader"} Ethan Rocklin mowed corn stover in G1 main plots: Reps 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5. Corn stover was mowed into windrows so that they could be bailed. The 6 rows (15 ft) in the west micro-plots of each rep were not mowed. Equipment Used: JD 7420a tractor and Loftness 15 ft Draper Windrower Shredder. Joe Simmons bailed corn stover with Krone 1270 square baler. Equipment Used: JD 7520 tractor with Krone 1270 square baler. Equipment Used: JD 5410 tractor (with loader) was used to move/load bales. Equipment Used: Dodge truck and gooseneck trailer were used to move and weigh bales. Portable scale was put on the rear of gooseneck and bales were place on scale to obtain weight. Bales were taken to KBS Dairy Center to be used for bedding for the cows. 5621
2022-11-09 KBS G1 Harvest {"Truck #892 (Blue/Red)","truck - for hauling","John Deere S660 Combine","Weigh Wagon, Brent by Unverferth Manufacturing Co.","Truck #1271 (Blue/White)"} Harvested corn in the GLBRC treatment G1 and bait crop corn in plots 604 and 605, and bait crop around the perimeter woods. Entire plot weight was determined by unloading corn from the combine to a Brent Weigh Wagon, by Unverferth Co. Number of corn rows harvested from each plot were counted and recorded to determine total area harvested. Each plot had 24 rows of corn harvested has the main plot harvest data. Six rows on each side of each plot were harvested with the Kincaid plot combine and was NOT included in the total plot weight (these six rows are recorded as micro-plot yield data). Moisture and test weights were determined using grain analysis moisture tester. Moisture and test weights were determined using a Dicky-john GAC2100b grain analysis moisture tester. 5620
2022-11-01 KBS G1 Harvest {"Kincaid 8XP Plot Combine"} Six rows on each side of each plot were harvested with the Kincaid plot combine. Yield, moisture and test weights were determined using combine mounted Harvest Master GrainGage. 5709
2022-10-25 KBS G2 Harvest {" Kemper harvester / tractor / weigh container"} Harvested GLBRC BCSE G2, and G6 micro-plots (fertilized and non-fertilized plots). Harvested with JD 6140 tractor using the 7.5 ft wide Kemper head and custom biomass weighing system. The middle 7.5' of each micro-plot were harvested. Plot weights were obtained from the on-board Mettler Toledo scale. Cutting height of plant stubble was 4-6 inches. Grab samples from each rep was placed in burlap bags, weighed for wet weight and placed in plant dryer and will be reweighed to determine percent moisture for each treatment and replication. 5611
